Women's Ministries
Women's Ministries at Pine Knolls exist to inspire and equip women to be fully devoted followers of Christ and His mission through caring relationships and relevant ministries.
Ladies Fellowship
Studies:
Studies will "kick-off" on Tuesday, January 17, beginning at 9:30 a.m. (Childcare is provided for the daytime studies only)
- The Patriarchs - facilitated by Joyce Fuller
This is the conclusion of the study that began last fall. If you were not able to participate in the fall study, we encourage you to join us now!
- Life Lessons Book of James (by Max Lucado) - facilitated by Nancy Messina. Together, we will work through this study with a look at this book of the Bible that's more about action on Monday than worship on Sunday.
- Sacred Marriage - facilitated by Vanessa Benson & Jan Benjamin. Using the book Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas is a powerful study about God's design for marriage. This study challenges us to be a blessing rather than seeking to be blessed.
Tuesday Evenings (no childcare provided)
- The Patriarchs - Facilitated by Doris Olmstead. This study is a continuation of the fall study. If you are interested in joining, please contact Doris by calling Pine Knolls.
- Facing Life's Uncertainties (a study on "Sara") - Facilitated by Shirley Nelson. This study will begin on Tuesday, January 24, at 7:00 p.m.
Women's Ministry also offers:
- Alliance Women Meet the second Saturday of each month at 9:30 at church. This group of women provide support for our missionaries.
- M.O.P.S. (Mother's of Preschoolers) is an internationally chartered
organization designed to meet the social, spiritual, and intellectual needs of mothers of preschoolers in their varied roles as moms, wives, homemakers, and women. The program includes crafts, socializing, teaching, and small group discussions. The children enjoy their own program while Mom enjoys a morning designed especially for her! Nursery care is also available. MOPS meets the first and third Thursdays of each month (unless school break) September through June.
- Moms in Touch - this international prayer ministry meets once a week for one hour throughout the school year interceding for our children. Praying that our schools may be guided by biblical values and high moral standards.
For Men
A ministry designed to equip men in Pine Knolls to fulfill their calling
to be godly men.
- Men's Fellowship
Study - Meet on Saturday mornings at 7:30 a.m. here at Pine Knolls. There is also an evening Men's Fellowship Study that meets Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at Pine Knolls.
Adult Christian Education
The Adult Christian Education program purposes to see God transform lives through the Spirit-filled teaching of His Word. We implement a three track, three year cycle of study that allows disciples to be exposed to the whole counsel of God. Emphasis is placed on applying biblical knowledge to everyday life. These classes also provide a place to connect with others and develop friendships.
Winter 2006 Adult Education Offerings:
- Saturday Night Special: That The World May Know - Think the Bible is outdated? Hard to understand? Not applicable to life in the 21st century? Do you want a deeper appreciation for the world that Jesus lived in? Moses? Abraham? Paul? Filmed on location in Israel, "That The World May Know: Faith Lessons" is a unique video series that brings God's Word to life with astounding relevance. By weaving together the Bible's fascinating historical, cultural religious and geographical contexts, teacher and historian Ray VanderLaan reveals keen insights into the Scriptures' significance for modern believers. These illuminating "faith lessons" afford a new understanding of the Bible that will ground your convictions and transform your life. Individual believers and families will gain vital insights from long ago times and cultures through this innovative approach to Bible understanding. Open to adults, teens and older children. Every class is self-contained so if you miss a class or several, no problem!

- Practicing Authentic Fellowship - How do you treat the people in your life? Do you seek their good and make sacrifices for their betterment? Or, do you simply tolerate them, or maybe even use and abuse them on occasion? Sadly these days, too many people (even in the church) are caught up in "Looking out for Number One."
In this "me first" generation, how do we go about ensuring respect in our interactions with others? How do we promote real fellowship as typified by the New Testament sense of koinonia? Jesus declared that, next to loving God, the second most important thing is to love our neighbor (Matthew 22:39). but, in this day and age, what does "loving our neighbor" look like? You'll find the answer, and even a way to make it a life style, in several New Testament passages that are known collectively as the "One Anothers."
